Typical columns
- Carton or pallet number and marks
- Article number, description and HS code
- Quantity per carton and number of cartons
- Net weight, gross weight and dimensions or volume (CBM)
Checking a shipment
- Weights like 12.5 become numbers – sum them and compare with the bill of lading.
- HS codes and carton numbers stay text, so dots and leading zeros are kept.
- Dimensions written as 60x40x40 stay text; split them with Text to Columns using “x”.
- Totals at the bottom appear as an extra row – don't count them twice.

Can I total the weights and volumes?
Yes. Weights and volumes written as plain numbers become numbers you can sum.
Do HS codes stay correct?
Yes. Codes like 8471.30.00 are kept as text, so no digits or dots are lost.
What about scanned packing lists?
They are not supported because OCR is not available. Ask the shipper for the PDF from their system.
Is my shipment data uploaded?
No. The packing list is converted in your browser and stays on your device.
