Turn Your Credit Card Statement Into an Excel Sheet
A credit card statement lists every purchase, refund and fee of the billing period – but as a PDF you can't sort it by merchant, filter out one category or add up what you spent on travel. Converted to Excel, the same transactions become rows you can work with.
PDFConvertFast reads statements that you download as PDF from your card issuer's website or app. The conversion happens in your browser, so your card transactions are never uploaded. Scanned or photographed paper statements are not supported, because they contain images instead of text.

Works best with digital PDFs that contain selectable text or tables. Scanned PDFs may need OCR.

What a converted statement looks like
- Each transaction line becomes one row, with date, description and amount in separate columns.
- Amounts written like 1,234.50 or -45.00 become real numbers you can total with =SUM().
- Amounts printed together with a currency symbol or a marker such as “CR” can stay as text. Remove the symbol or marker with Find & Replace and they turn into numbers.
- Dates are kept exactly as printed on the statement.
Tips for multi-page statements
- Choose “All pages in one sheet” so the transactions of all pages end up in one list.
- Headers and page footers repeat on every page – filter on the description column to hide them.
- Summary boxes (previous balance, minimum payment) appear as separate rows above or below the transactions.
Find out where your money goes
Add a Category column next to the descriptions, then build a pivot table with categories as rows and the sum of amounts as values. Doing this every month shows quickly which subscriptions or habits cost the most.

Credit card statement to Excel – questions and answers
Which credit card statements can be converted?
Statements that you download as PDF from online banking or your card issuer's app. They contain selectable text, which PDFConvertFast turns into rows and columns. Scanned or photographed statements need OCR, which PDFConvertFast does not support.
Why are some amounts not recognised as numbers?
PDFConvertFast turns plain amounts like 1,234.50 into numbers. Amounts printed together with a currency sign (for example $45.00) or a credit marker such as “CR” can stay as text, so nothing is changed by mistake. Remove the sign or marker with Find & Replace in Excel.
Can I combine several months?
Convert one statement at a time and paste the rows into a single sheet. Sorting by date then gives you one list for the whole year.
Is my card information uploaded?
No. The statement is converted in your browser and stays on your device.
