PDF statement or activity download?
If your account lets you download your activity as a CSV file, that file is the cleanest source – open it with CSV to Excel and every field is already in its own column. When you only have the PDF statement, for example one sent to you or saved for your records, convert it here.
Preparing the sheet for bookkeeping
- Sort by the amount column to separate incoming payments from outgoing ones.
- Add a column with the matching invoice number for each payment.
- If fees are listed on their own lines, filter on them to see the total fees of the period.
- If the statement mixes currencies, check the currency column before you total the amounts.
