Extract a Table From a PDF Into Excel
Copying a table out of a PDF usually ends badly: every cell lands in one column, or the rows come out in the wrong order. PDFConvertFast rebuilds the table instead – it reads where each piece of text sits on the page and puts it back into the right row and column.
This works for tables in digital PDFs: reports, price lists, exported lists and statistics. Tables in scanned documents or images can't be extracted, because PDFConvertFast has no OCR.

Works best with digital PDFs that contain selectable text or tables. Scanned PDFs may need OCR.

How the table is rebuilt
Text that shares a line becomes a row. Columns are detected from the gaps between pieces of text, so tables without visible borders work just as well as tables with grid lines. Numbers such as 1,234.50 become real numbers, while IDs with leading zeros (like 00123) stay as text so they don't lose their zeros.
Tables that need a little cleanup
- Cells with text wrapped over two lines can become two rows – merge them in Excel.
- A header that spans several columns ends up in just one of them.
- A table that continues on the next page: choose “All pages in one sheet” to keep it in one list.
- Text around the table (titles, notes) appears as extra rows that you can delete.
Copy and paste vs. converting
Copy and paste from a PDF viewer gives you plain text without columns. Converting gives you a real XLSX file with the table's structure, which you can sort, filter and calculate with right away.

PDF table to Excel – questions and answers
Can I extract a table without borders?
Yes. Columns are recognised from the position of the text, not from lines, so borderless tables convert as well.
Can I extract only one table from a long PDF?
PDFConvertFast converts every page – by default each page goes to its own sheet. Open the sheet of the page with your table and copy what you need, or remove the other pages first with the PDF editor.
What about tables in scanned PDFs or images?
They are not supported. A scanned table is a picture, and PDFConvertFast does not offer OCR. It only works with PDFs where you can select the text.
Is the PDF uploaded?
No. The table is extracted in your browser and the PDF never leaves your device.
