Image to Excel: From Table Picture to Spreadsheet
A screenshot of a table or a JPG of a price list looks like data, but for Excel it is just a picture. Turning it into rows and columns needs text recognition and table detection.
PDFConvertFast can't extract tables from images yet.
Coming soon
OCR and AI extraction are coming soon. Current PDF to Excel works best with digital PDFs that contain selectable text or tables.
What image to Excel will need to do
- Recognise the letters and numbers in the image (OCR).
- Find the grid of rows and columns, even without visible lines.
- Turn amounts and dates into real Excel values.
What works today
If the table originally came from a website, a PDF or another program, use that source instead of a screenshot: copy it directly, export it as CSV or convert the digital PDF with PDF to Excel. If you simply need your images in one document, JPG to PDF and PNG to PDF work right now.
