When PDF pages end up in the wrong order

A scanner fed the pages in backwards, the cover ended up at the end, or two chapters were merged the wrong way round – a PDF in the wrong order is hard to read and awkward to send. Rearranging the pages takes about a minute and you don't need to scan or export anything again.

How to reorder PDF pages

  • Open your PDF in the editor above – every page appears as a numbered thumbnail.
  • Drag a page to its new position. The number in the corner shows the new position, the label below shows the original page.
  • To move a single page to the front, use the “move to the start” button on that page.
  • Scanned the stack from the back? Click “Reverse order” to flip the whole document at once.
  • Click “Save & download PDF” to get the reordered file.

Tips for getting the order right

  • Check the “Original p.” label under each thumbnail to see where a page came from.
  • Made a mistake? Undo goes back one step at a time, Reset restores the original order.
  • On a phone, press and hold a page for a moment before dragging it.
  • With a keyboard, focus a page, press Space, move it with the arrow keys and press Space again.

Reordering keeps your PDF intact

Only the order changes – the pages themselves are copied as they are. Text stays selectable, links and images are kept, and nothing is converted or compressed. The PDF is rearranged in your browser and never uploaded.
